ATLANTA, Ga. - In April, Gov. Brian Kemp signed a bill promising tax rebates for Georgians. But when can you expect to see it hit your bank ?
According to the Georgia Department of Revenue, the tax rebate will be automatically sent as a direct deposit or paper check within six to eight weeks if you filed by May 1.

Who is eligible for the Georgia tax refund?
You’re eligible if you filed your Georgia Individual Income Tax Return for 2023 and 2024 on time.
How much is the refund?
It depends on which category you’re in:
- Single: $250
- Head of household: $375
- Married couples: $500
The deposits are tax-free.
Will the refund be a check or direct deposit?
The money will be issued based on your tax form’s refund instructions. The revenue department said most people have selected direct deposit.
How can I check on the status of my refund?
You can check the status of your refund using the Georgia Tax Center’s e-filing services at https://gtc.dor.ga.gov/_/#3.
You’ll be asked to input a tax year, your social security number or individual taxpayer ID and your Federal Adjusted Gross Income from that year.
If you’ve moved, make sure the address on your Georgia Tax Center is your current address. If you’re receiving a check, you don’t want it going somewhere else!
