Over 100,000 kitchen faucets recalled due to dangerous lead exposure for young children
(CNN) - A recall has been issued for thousands of kitchen faucets due to harmful levels of lead exposure.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, over 100,000 faucets are being recalled due to dangerous lead exposure for young children.
The three recalled models were sold under the brands Vfauosit, Kicimpro and Basdehen.
Two of the models were sold between January 2024 and this month, while the Basdehen model was sold between May 2024 and this month.
The recall notice states that testing revealed the faucets contained lead that could leak into the water and potentially harm infants and young children.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission says lead ingestion can cause harmful neurological effects on young children.
No injuries have been immediately reported, but consumers have been urged to stop using the faucets immediately and to the vendor for a full refund.
Consumers should only consume water from the faucets after running the water for 15 seconds, the commission said.
