CRAWFORDVILLE, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Taliaferro County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man who’d set off a multi-state manhunt after allegedly killing his parents.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in Florida, 37-year-old Nicolas Kirchner-Prola killed both his parents before pointing a firearm at residents in Sumter County, S.C., on Friday morning.

One person shot at apartment complex in Washington County, officials say

The Sandersville Police Department and Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to Sunrise Apartments early Saturday morning in reference to a shooting.

Witnesses told investigators that Kirchner-Prola pointed a gun at multiple individuals, threatening to shoot them. According to deputies, he allegedly held someone at gunpoint and forced another to enter the home to retrieve someone, threatening to shoot the hostage in the head if the demands were not met.

According to deputies, Nicholas stated, “I’ve already killed two people – I’ll kill some more.”

Reports said a family member emerged from the residence armed, causing the suspect to retreat while another relative was on the phone with Sumter County dispatchers.

After investigators issued a regional law enforcement bulletin and entered Kirchner-Prola into the National Crime Information Center, Kirchner-Prola was located and apprehended in Georgia by the Taliaferro County Sheriff’s Office on Friday afternoon.

In Taliaferro County , he was arrested after authorities responded to a 911 call from a motorist who reported a suspicious individual on the shoulder of Interstate 20 around 3:41 p.m. Friday.

Deputies searching for 3 men wanted on separate aggravated assault charges

Three men are wanted by the Richmond County Sheriff's Office on separate aggravated assault charges.

The male was described as wearing all white and a red baseball cap, kneeling with one hand raised.

A deputy arrived and made with the individual, who said he was armed.

The weapon was safely secured, and the male identified himself by name and date of birth.

During the investigation, the suspect itted to killing two individuals and said he had abandoned a stolen Nissan Pathfinder along I-20.

The suspect was transported to the McDuffie County jail, where he awaits extradition to Florida on two counts of homicide.
