Missing zebra found wandering in field
CHRISTIANA, Tenn. (WSMV/Gray News) - The infamous zebra that was missing for six days after breaking loose was spotted in a field in Christiana, Tennessee, early Friday morning.
The search for the missing zebra began about a week ago. The animal was purchased from a breeding facility in Texas and brought to Rutherford County on May 30. The owner reported it missing the very next morning.

Deputies were forced to close a portion of Interstate 24 at one point in the search when the zebra crossed the interstate to prevent any vehicles from striking the animal.
The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office released footage on Friday of the zebra in a field just off Interstate 24 near a tree line, and said deputies are tracking it with a drone.
“We don’t want to scare the zebra. We need time to get him to calm down,” said Rutherford County Sheriff l. Sean White.
The sheriff’s office said the owner was notified and is working with a veterinarian to bring the animal in safely
