Victim ID’d in deadly crash in McDuffie County

The coroner’s office says 60-year-old Lisa Lazier, of Thomson, died in the crash, which occurred on Cobham Road.

Thomson, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - McDuffie County Coroner Paul Johnson has released the name of the person who died in a two-vehicle accident Saturday morning.

The coroner’s office says 60-year-old Lisa Lazier, of Thomson, died in the crash.

The accident was reported Saturday at 6:18 a.m. at the 1400 block of Cobham Road in Thomson.

Lazier was driving a Toyota Corolla traveling east when she was hit by an SUV traveling westbound.

Lazier was pronounced dead on the scene at 6:53 a.m. by the coroner’s office.

The driver of the other vehicle was sent to the hospital.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating.

An autopsy has been scheduled for next week.
