EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A 19-year-old man has been arrested after he was accused of exposing himself at a local store, according to authorities.

And it’s nearly the same scenario as what happened to another customer, involving another suspect, at another dollar store in Columbia County a couple of years ago.

In this latest case, Troy Anthony Booker was arrested Thursday in connection with the incident that happened June 2 at Dollar Tree, 3830 Washington Road, according to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident report states a woman told deputies while she was kneeling to look at items on a lower shelf in the store, an unknown Black man began standing close to her.

The woman stated when she looked up, the man was exposing himself close to her face, according to the report.

Deputies say the woman quickly got up, walked away and paid her items. She then left the store.

The report states the woman called deputies after leaving the store because “she didn`t want him to do anything to anybody else.”

When deputies responded to the store, managers provided security footage to deputies, according to the report.

Deputies say they observed a male walking around the store when he approached the woman.

According to the report, the security footage confirmed the woman’s claims.

Booker is charged with one count of public indecency, according to jail reports.

Different store, different suspect

The latest case bears a striking similarity to one that happened a couple of years ago, also in Columbia County.

In that incident, a woman was shopping at a Dollar General at 5380 Columbia Road when she noticed a man following her.

She said she went to the laundry detergent aisle and noticed he was right behind her.

When she turned around, he had his private parts out and was performing a lewd act, she told deputies.

When she screamed, he ran from the store, deputies said.

A 28-year-old man was arrested, and he had a record of similar accusations.
