Mother killed by son, who was then killed by his brother, police say

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA/Gray News) - Police in Alabama say a mother is dead at the hands of one of her sons, who was then killed by her other son during another altercation in Mobile on Sunday.

Police said officers responded to Ross Street shortly after 5:30 p.m. and discovered two people dead inside a home.

Authorities identified the deceased as 52-year-old Traci McDuffie and 25-year-old Brandon McDuffie.

The Mobile Police Department said its investigation revealed Brandon McDuffie fatally shot his mother, Traci McDuffie.

Traci McDuffie’s other son discovered what occurred. Police said at that point, Brandon McDuffie shot towards the other son. He defended himself by shooting his brother Brandon, according to police.

The death of Traci McDuffie has been abated by the death of Brandon McDuffie, police said. The death of Brandon McDuffie will be presented to a grand jury.
