Sheriff issues grave warning to violent anti-ICE protesters: ‘We will kill you’
BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. (Gray News) – A sheriff in Florida delivered a stern warning to potentially destructive protesters demonstrating against the ongoing national immigration crackdown.
Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey was ed by Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier on Thursday to announce to law enforcement officers in the state.
“If you throw a brick, a firebomb or point a gun at one of our deputies, we will be notifying your family where to collect your remains because we will kill you, graveyard dead,” Ivey said.
According to Uthmeier, some federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers and Border Patrol agents from other parts of the U.S. have been left vulnerable after protesters leaked personal details or family information during the demonstrations against the White House istration’s immigration policy.
“Whether you make the poor choice to riot or publish an agent’s personal information online to bring harm, you are committing a crime in Florida,” Uthmeier said. “We will find you and hold you able.”
Any officer in Florida who has their private information leaked online will have welfare checks done at their residence regularly and will have direct communication with state police as an added security measure, the attorney general added.
“Florida is the anti-riot state, and unlike California, we law enforcement,” Uthmeier said.
President Donald Trump has deployed National Guard troops and the Marines to Los Angeles in an attempt to control the anti-ICE protests, but other demonstrations have flared up across the country.
Additional protests over the president’s enforcement of the immigration laws are expected to continue over the weekend.
