The Phoenix Police Department announced on Wednesday that it has whittled down its chief search to three finalists. In alphabetical order, they are Malik Aziz, Matthew Giordano and Mirtha V. Ramos. The three candidates will introduce themselves and answer questions from the public at a public forum on Monday. Derek Staahl reports.
A fast-moving wildfire that destroyed at least 20 homes in Wasco County and forced evacuations in an area west of The Dalles next to I-84 was determined to be human-caused, the Northwest Interagency Coordination Center reported on Thursday morning.
No officers were hurt, and two teen boys were arrested after they stole a car and tried to run over police, which ended in an officer-involved shooting in Mesa.
