A man has died hours after being hospitalized because he was hit by a pickup truck in west Phoenix on Wednesday night. Christian Chevarillo and another man were trying to cross Lower Buckeye Road near 85th Avenue around 9:30 p.m. when a pickup truck driver hit them, police said. The other man is expected to survive.
