UPDATE | Shooting at Smart Grocery and Gas Station on Wrightsboro Road

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- One black male has been injured in a shooting outside the Smart Grocery and Gas Station.
The shooting happened shortly after 4 p.m. Friday. Deputies said they are still working on his identity, no name, age yet.
According to Major Steven Strickland with the Richmond County Sheriff's Office, the victim has wounds to a hand and thigh, both with entry and exit wounds. There was only one victim.
The victim was transported to local medical center with non-life threatening injuries. Deputies said he was talking inside the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
Witnesses told deputies that it appeared to start over some type of dispute between the victim and suspect just inside or outside the Smart Grocery.
The suspect is described as a black male and could be wearing a yellow shirt but deputies still aren't sure. Witnesses told deputies a blue vehicle left the scene after the altercation, but they're not sure if that's tied into what happened.
Deputies are still not sure if suspect fled on foot or in a vehicle, they have different reports from witnesses.
The investigation is ongoing and in preliminary stages. They will on more info as soon as they can.
