AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Three candidates have announced they will run for Aiken County council hair if Ronnie Young is elected to the State House.

Current county council Andrew Siders and Chuck Smith as well as former county councilmember Gary Bunker all intend to run, depending on the results of the House District 84 race.

Currently County Council Chairman Ronnie Young is being challenged by Jennifer Cook Lariscey. The House Dirstrict 84 seat became open after former Representative Chris Corley resigned on Tuesday.

The election for the county council chair position would only happen if Young is elected to the house and the process for filing would start after the house seat race concludes.
